Kemi, the testimony you put up last week prompted me to give this.
l want to use the platform you
have provided testifiers to share my own for two reasons. Worship God
and acknowledge Him for His works. Secondly, that people may learn one
or two things and be more equipped in faith and prayers.
Before l testify l want to say:
God, Barbarians have broken into Your home, violated Your land and left
Nigeria a pile of rubble (troubles). The enemy dumped the blood of Your
people out like buckets of water. All around Nigeria, bodies of people
murdered are left to rot unburied. How long do we have to put up with
this, God. Hurry up and help us, we are at the end of our rope. You God
are known for helping [You have just helped me]. Give us a break. Pull
us out of the mess we are in as a nation, forgive us our sins. Amen.
From this background, you will understand my story. l boarded an
18seater bus from Sango, under the Bridge, to Oshodi two months ago. I
noticed that along the way, more than half of the passengers were
already asleep. It was only about 5 of us were alert with eyes open.
The driver got to a junction and turned off the major Lagos_Abeokuta
expressway into a street. When asked why he had to change direction,
the driver and the ‘conductor’ apprentice shouted on us saying didn’t we
see the traffic ahead?
According to them, they wanted to take shorter
route devoid of heavy traffic to get us To Oshodi. So the 5 of us kept
quiet. We kept going.l found out later that others had started dozing.
After a time, we got to a large place with lights everywhere. l could not
explain this, because l left Sango Ota in the day time.
Immediately we got there, we were told to disembark. They brought
calabashes containing reddish substance out, one each for everyone. As the
one meant for me was placed on my palm, it fell and broke into two.
However, others drank from theirs.
In their drowsy state, they were led
into another place. Later, that evening another 18seaters bus came with
its catch. I was told to join them for same rites. The calabash fell and
got broken. They were now asking me which power l had got. They went to
search my bag and saw a copy of Bible. The following day, some heads
were brought out for buyers that came in divers vehicles of high taste.
Midday, a bus came in bringing the ‘causalities’, l was asked to join
the group for repeated ritual. Same result.
ln my presence, the others were
led into another side. They were now very angry with me. They issued
threats at me saying l would not leave the place alive. After other
attempts on me to drink or eat there failed, they got mad at me.l became
a type of ‘ Who is this woman?’ They decided to throw me into a drum
placed on fire boiling with God knows what.
Only God knew what the effect
of such could have been on me.
As one of the hefty men carried me to throw me inside, the thing in the
drum exploded seriously splitting hot liquids on those around. But to
me, me! God showed His strength. A Hand caught me and placed me outside
the hell of a place. You find it difficult to believe? Then, you have not
seen this God at work.
I trekked some distance, l believe, with God’
strength, because it could not have been by my power, l saw a man
working on a field who told me l was at lkorodu, a town far from where l
was coming from. At last, l was helped home.
l experienced the love,
grace and victory that God gives to those He decides to be generous
to.That is why l prayed at the beginning of this story that may the Lord
set the captives free by His power. Only God could have done mine.
My
people, sensing trouble when they could not get me on my phone and l was
not home after 5hours, taking into consideration the likely traffic on
the road. I was told prayers were organized for my safety, and God
answered. Only God can save and set free.
