Key into Tinubu’s 8-point agenda – Information Minister tells Public Relations practitioners

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has called on the newly elected officials of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to key into the 8-point agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and join the effort to improve the country’s image.

The minister appealed on Thursday when the members of the NIPR board paid a courtesy visit to his office.

The minister, also a fellow of the Institute, assured the board of his unalloyed support, adding that the ministry is willing to partner with all well-meaning institutions and stakeholders in repositioning the country and reorienting Nigerians.

“The ministry will engage the NIPR in this regard,” he said.
He supported the plan of the board to pursue the promotion of sectoral specialization amongst members to enhance professionalism further and build a robust institution.

“The NIPR has been operating as a unifocal profession, which has created a problem; we need to decentralize our profession.”

On his part, the president and chairman of the governing council of NIPR, Dr Ike Neliaku, said the council members were on a courtesy visit to inform the minister of its planned programmes and activities as well as to express their readiness to collaborate with the ministry in the task of nation building.
