Between June 2022 and January 2023, Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) earned N5.5 billion in revenue.
According to its Managing Director, Alhaji Ahmad Dangana, there has been a significant improvement in revenue collection in its franchise areas of Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa.
He stated at a KEDCO senior management retreat in Kano that the revenue collection increased by more than 70% over the N3.2 billion collected in the first six months of 2022.
He also stated that the company’s market penetration had increased from 42% in June 2022 to 58% at the end of the year, indicating a steady progress towards the projected 70% penetration by the end of 2022.
Dangana also mentioned that power supply improved significantly during the review period.
He said KEDCO sustained its investments worth N17 billion to build efficient and effective network and pledged improved service delivery to Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states.
He said the company repaired more than 250 transformers in the last three months and added that plans were in place to provide more pre-paid meters to end estimated billings.
In his presentation, the Chief Commercial Officer of KEDCO, Malam Abubakar Yusuf assured of renewed commitment to providing consumers with timely and consistent solution to complaints.
Yusuf said that the company had also resolved to ensure that customers got value for their money and that measures were put in place for better service delivery. (NAN)
