Independent National
Electoral Commission, (INEC) has announced the extension of the distribution and
collection of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to March 22.
The distribution was
initially scheduled to end today, but cries from Governor Ibikunle Amosun as
major cities in Ogun state are still lagging behind, has necessitated the
extension to about one week before the March 28 presidential election.

Kayode Idowu, chief press secretary to the INEC
chairman, said:
“This latest extension
offers the last opportunity for duly registered persons to collect their PVCs
before the general election scheduled for March 28 and April 11, 2015,”
He further said, “all
registered persons that are yet to collect their PVCs should use this last
opportunity in doing so, in order to participate in the forthcoming general
election”.
