Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
have carried out a comprehensive search of the home of former Petroleum
Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The search of Diezani’s residence in Asokoro, Abuja, was conducted this evening.
Diezani
was arrested in London, this morning by the International
Corruption Unit of the United Kingdom National Crimes Agency.
The EFCC were said to have recovered vital documents from the residence of the former Minister.
Diezani is accused of large-scale money laundering and abuse of office during her spell as minister.
Diezani was said to have been apprehended alongside four others, on Friday by the United Kingdom National Crimes Agency.
Premium Times reports that Diezani’s arrest was confirmed by two top British officials in London.
It is believed that Diezani’s arrest was carried out by the UKNCA, at the behest of the Nigerian government.
