Bukola Saraki, the Former Senate President, has mourned the passing of Enugu State commissioner for transport, Mr. Mathias Ekweremadu, who slumped at the Enugu State House of Assembly and was confirmed dead on arrival, after being rushed to the Niger Foundation Hospital.
The late commissioner, was a younger brother to former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu.
Viral reports say he was holding meeting with the House of Assembly Committee on Transport, led by its chairman, Hillary Ugwu (Enugu East Rural) when the sad incident occurred.
Reacting, Saraki prayed that Almighty God grants Senator Ekweremadu, his family, and the government and people of Enugu State solace.
He wrote on Twitter, ”Sending my heartfelt condolences to my friend and brother, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, on the death of his brother, the Commissioner for Transportation of Enugu State, Chief Mathias Ekweremadu, who passed away yesterday.
”It is my prayer that Almighty God grants Senator Ekweremadu, his family, and the government and people of Enugu State solace as they mourn the passing of Chief Mathias, who was a passionate public servant that served his people at various levels with distinction.”
