Efe, a young butcher at the famous Sapele primary market, was shot dead on Sunday by community gunmen.

Efe was murdered barely after Okiemute Sowho, a senior special assistant on Youth Development to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, was killed at the same Sapele area.

It was gathered that Efe was a cow meat seller; he was shot dead along the New Road axis by Poultry Road Junction in the town.

Sources who gave an account of the incident said men who wielded arms had come in blue, numberless Toyota Camry cars.

The source further claimed that the men had shot their target at a close range in the head while he was on a motorcycle.

A resident in the community who gave an account, pleading to be kept anonymous, affirmed that the death of Efe and that of Governor Okowa’s aide were cult-related.

DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State, could not be reached to comment on the situation as of the time of filing this report.
