FRSC Confirms That Mr. James Ocholi And His Family Were Murdered

Early reports from the preliminary road traffic
investigation into the accident that killed the Late Minister of State
for Labour, Mr. James Ocholi (SAN), his wife and son has brought up
curious and indicting revelations.

The Corp Marshal of the Federal Roads Safety Commssion
(FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi who led the investigation team, told the
Federal Executive Council that besides the reports that alleged the
driver to be over-speeding, they found out that the Dunlop tyres on the
sports utility vehicle (SUV) were wrongly attached to the rim inwardly
instead of outwardly.

He noted that the Tyres were far from expired.

He added that the vehicle was without a communication link with the
minister’s pilot vehicle occupants who tried desperately to communicate
with the minister’s driver through his phone to reduce his speed.

Oyeyemi, who gave details of the investigations, said the driver who
had driven at high speed lost control when the rear tyre of the vehicle
they were travelling in burst on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway, about 180
kilometres from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The investigation came after a call for an investigation into what
has been described as a conspiratorial event by the uncle to late
Minister.

He said that the front seat passengers who had seat belts survived
and said it was unlikely the Late Minister and his family at the back
seat used seat belts. He said the drivers details were not registered on
the FRSC database as licenced drivers.

He called onPresident Muhammadu Buhari to lead the campaign on road safety.
The Federal Government has announced March 18 for the burial of the late minister.
