The federal government of Nigeria is currently meeting with the executives of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and Trade Union Congress over the ongoing nationwide strike.
According to the report, the meeting is taking place at the office of the National Security Adviser.
The meeting comes hours after the federal government, through the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, said the thug who attacked NLC president Joe Ajaero in Imo state has been arrested.
Those in attendance are the Minister of Labour, Simon Bako Lalong, Minister of State, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyeajeocha and NSA Nuhu Ribadu.
Also in attendance are labour leaders led by TUC President Comrade Festus Osifo, NLC Secretary General Emmanuel Ugboaja and other Labour leaders.
Recall that the NLC and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, had declared a nationwide strike, demanding the arrest of the suspected thugs and their sponsors.
Ajaero was attacked in Owerri, Imo State capital, on November 1 when workers in the state staged a protest over unpaid salary.
