Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, has disclosed that the only presidential candidate of the labor party, Peter Obi can win the 2023 general elections when he gets a pool of resources of N5Obillion.
According to Fayose, Obi, the large following that Peter Obi enjoys among young people on social media is not enough to help him contend against the two other candidates, Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar who have a pool of resources at their disposal.
Fayose on Tuesday, August 16th said Obi’s popularity on social media is not enough to secure victory, stressing that the former Anambra State governor lacks the political structure to win the contest.
“Out of all the candidates, Obi is the most popular. If we vote today on social media, he will win. But an election is structure-based. So, Obi will need N50 billion to be able to make that government a reality. N50 billion, yes, Obi will win,” he said.
Remember, Tinubu is a little bit popular too. He has what they call structure. The structure alone is worth N50bn. He has what they call goodwill. They call him ‘The City Boy’. So where him money no fit reach, him structure go reach, where him structure no fit reach, him popularity go reach.”
“Obi, with N50 billion, will manage to buy his own army to defeat Tinubu,” Fayose added.
