The immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose who was forced to spend the weekend in Ikoyi Prisons following his inability to meet up with the bail conditions before close of work on Friday has now regained his freedom.
It was gathered that he has now been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as he has met his bail conditions.
According to his aide, Lere Olayinka, the former governor filed all the necessary documents before the court for verification on Friday and should be out of EFCC custody today (Monday).
Currently facing an 11-count charge of abuse of office, conspiracy and money laundering amounting to 2.2 billion was granted a N50 million bail and the judge, Justice Mojisola Olatiregun ordered that he should provide two sureties who must issue a 50 million bond in a reputable bank as well as possess three years tax clearance. She also directed that the former governor deposits his international passport with the court.
The former governor was also asked to provide a surety who must have landed property in Lagos.
