No fewer than two people have died in a fatal road accident at the Olokuta axis of the Akure-Ondo highway in Ondo state.
Around 7:00 p.m., the accident involved a commercial vehicle and a Honda Accord car.
An eyewitness at the scene stated the accident was caused by excessive speed.
He said one of the drivers lost control before hitting the vehicle from the Ondo end of the highway.
While confirming the accident, the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state disclosed that, with two deaths recorded, five others were injured in the crash.
According to the Sector Commander, Ezekiel SonAllah, six male adults and one female adult were involved in the crash.
“A Nissan Primera commercial vehicle marked FGB-96XA and a Honda Accord car marked MUS-834 AL was involved in an accident.
“Two male adults died on the spot, while four male adults and one female adult were injured.”
SonAllah added that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary of the Ondo State Specialist Hospital in Akure, while the injured were taken to the health facility for treatment.
