EPL: England legend blames Sarri and Jorginho for Spurs loss

Arsenal and England legend, lan Wright has heaped the blame on Chelsea coach, Maurizio Sarri and his new signing from Napoli, Jorginho.

Tottenham ended Chelsea’s unbeaten streak courtesy of goals from Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Son Yeung Min.

Wright said he doesn’t understand why Sarri likes playing Ngolo Kante further up the pitch instead of his preferred defensive position.

Wright told Match of the Day, “You see Jorginho for the second goal go to the ball where Kante would pick up someone like Harry Kane and clear up that mess.

“For the third goal, Kante is upfield and there’s no way he’d allow them through to score that goal.

Jorginho joined Chelsea in the summer having played an important role under Sarri at Napoli.

Kante has been playing further up the the pitch in other to accommodate Jorginho as a deep-lying playmaker and Wright can not understand the decision

“It’s been quite confusing to me,” Wright added.

“The best defensive midfielder in the world – I’m sure he’s got his new contract from what he’s done previously – and listening to his manager say he could score more goals. Well, he’s got midfielders who can score more goals.

“It’s baffling to me.”

Maurizio Sarri described his team defending against Tottenham as a disaster
