#EndSARS: Lagos panel orders reopening of Lekki tollgate

The Panel of Enquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS related abuses and other matters set up by the Lagos State government has ordered the there-opening of the Lekki Toll Gate.

Led by the infamous Justice Doris Okuwobi, the panel finally approves the re-opening of the plaza and its repossession to the Lekki Concession Company, LCC.

Lekki toll gate had been under the panel since it began its sitting in October after the #EndSARS protest against police brutality, which allegedly saw the massacre of many unarmed lives at the toll gate.

Four other members who were present with Justice Okuwobu were Segun Awosanya, a.k.a Segalink, Oluwatoyin Odunsanya, Director, Citizens right; DIG Taiwo Lakanu, representing the Police and Lucas Koyejo, a member of the National Human Rights Commission.

The Judge and her team rose after making their decision, while the others came in to make their disserting ruling on the matter.

The dissenting parties are; Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Mr. Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, representing the Civil Society, Ms. Patience Udoh representing the Civil Society; Rinu Oduala and Temitope Majekodunmi, representing #EndSARS protesters.

The reading of the dissertation was obstructed by the LCC lawyer, Mr. Rotimi Seriki, and Lagos State Counsel, Mr. Enitan Thomas, after which the sitting erupted into a shouting chaos.
