Emir of Kano: Governor can’t detain one who hasn’t committed any crime – Apostle Suleman
Apostle Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries has condemned the dethronement of Muhammadu Sanusi II by the Kano State Government led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Sanusi was dethroned on grounds of insubordination and disrespect of constituted authority. He has been sent on exile in Nasarawa while Aminu Ado Bayero has been announced as the new Emir of Kano.
Apostle Suleman who reacted to the news criticized the detaining of Sanusi who has been placed under house arrest.
He tweeted: “I can understand the dethronement of the former emir of kano. what I don’t understand is the detention. over what? A governor has right to depose a traditional ruler but has no right to detain anyone who has not committed an offence. disrespecting a governor is not a criminal offence”.
