Edo police arrest officers behind killing of vigilante

Four police officers have been arrested and detained over the death of one vigilante member, Ikponwonsa Aikpitanyi.

The officers were arrested by the Edo State Police Command which made the announcement.

The 27-year-old vigilante member was allegedly shot by the police officers while trying to stop a woman from disposing refuse on the road.

Commissioner of police Abutu Yaro ordered the arrest and detention of the officers after the incident that happened at Obaze Street, off Ewah Road, Benin city.
