The Department of State Services (DSS) has reportedly picked up by the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Friday.
Business Day reports that Obiora’s arrest follows allegations of financial mismanagement under the suspended CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele.
Obiora is in charge of economic policy.
His arrest comes on the heels of an ongoing probe of CBN under Emefiele.
Emefiele has been in the custody of the DSS since June 10, 2023, a day after President Bola Tinubu removed him from office.
In July, Tinubu appointed a special investigator, Jim Obazee, to oversee the probe of the activities of the apex bank under Emefiele.
DSS and CBN spokespersons, Dr Peter Afunanya and Dr Isa Abdulmumin, respectively, have yet to respond to inquiry.
