Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, DCP Tunji Disu has shared a new format used by fraudsters in defrauding people at market places.
DCP Tunji Disu started off by sharing a picture on Twitter showing what looks like a wad of N1000 notes. He then asked Twitter users to guess the exact amount in the wad.
“Can you guess how much we have here ? 20k 15k 10k ????!!!”, he tweeted.
Many Twitter users were giving different range of amount only for their guesses to be cut shut when Tunji Disu shared another picture which showed the mystery unravel.
What looked like a wad of N1000 notes is actually just a note of N1000 used to wrap pieces of carton papers cut to look like Naira notes.
He tweeted:
“Its 1k note padded with cardboard paper. This is what most scammers at computer village usually return to unsuspecting individuals who go there to buy phones. You give them your money but instead of getting a phone in return, you get this padded stuff. Lets be more vigilant”.
