Eight of the 15 counts against the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, have been struck out by the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Friday.
The Federal Government had filed the 15 count charge against Kanu, bordering on terrorism and treasonable felony.
The eight charges were struck out by Justice Binta Nyako who also delivered a verdict on them, saying counts six, seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, and 14 have not disclosed any offence by the defendant.
On counts one, two, three, four, five, 13, and 15, Justice Nyako said they showed some allegations against the IPOB leader, adding that the trial will henceforth be based on those counts.
She also spoke on the proscription of IPOB, saying the case is still pending before an appellate court.
Kanu was last year arrested in Kenya and extradited to Nigeria to continue the case of terrorism and treasonable felony against him.
He had jumped bail in 2017 after claiming that his home in Abia was attacked by men of the Nigerian military.
