Coronavirus: NURTW to introduce hand sanitizers at motor parks in Lagos – MC Oluomo

The Chairman Lagos State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya MC Oluomo has said the Union, apart from planned enlightenment campaigns, has also introduced the use of hand sanitizers in motor parks across the state, starting from state council, leadership by practical examples.

The ministry of health and strategy team led Mr Bode Lawal visit the Lagos union office at oko oba agege educate the union members on corona virus, Mr Bode lawal apreaciate the NURTW boss for his leadership quality and the transformation and rebrand of NURTW in lagos, later given a short lecture on the cause and prevention of this virus. Alhaji musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya Mc-Oluomo told visitors from the health sector that “as part of our efforts to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus in our motor parks, we will be holding an enlightenment campaign to create awareness about the virus to our members.” He continued that “as we are aware, our members interact with different kinds of people in the park and this make them vulnerable to the infectious disease. In a bid to stop the ravaging Coronavirus, the Union is contributing it’s quota by making the sanitizers available and more importantly enlightening the general public through the Union members on the causes, effects and preventive measures that can be done to combat the spread of the virus.”
Alhaji Akinsanya Mc-Oluomo urged commercial drivers to maintain personal hygiene and cultivate the habits of washing their hands regularly with soap.

He said having recorded a case of Coronavirus in Lagos, members of the Union need not be scared, but adhere strictly to preventive measures, he reteirated that people should cover their mouth and nose properly with handkerchief or tissue paper when sneezing and or coughing and anyone that is not feeling well should promptly visit the nearest hospital.

Lastly, Alhaji Akinsanya Mc-Oluomo appreciate His Excellency the executive governor of Lagos state Babajide Sanwoolu for qiuck intervention towards the deadly disease also the ministry of healthy.
