In a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus, the Federal Government has shut down three international airports; Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano; Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu; and the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa.
Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Musa Nuhu, disclosed this in a statement hours ago.
Mr Nuhu said the three airports would be closed till further notice, effective March 21.
He, however, said the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja and the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos would remain open but no flight operations will be allowed from countries listed as high-risk areas with multiple incidents of the virus.
As of Friday, Nigeria has 12 confirmed cases of the virus.
