Last night, controversy trailed the health status of a sister to the
late Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh, following reports that she might have
tested positive to Ebola Virus Disease.
Reports on social media, had alleged that the woman in question had tested positive to the virus and was being quarantined.
“She has been moved to isolation at the Ebola treatment centre in
Lagos. She joins two other patients there under-going evaluation and
treatment, we can only pray that her case turns out to be like that of
Dennis, the late 29-year old nurse’ fiancé who tested positive twice and
was later confirmed to be negative after the international affiliates
of the center carried out a third test on him. ” the reports alleged,
however, a new report claims otherwise.
A close family member who didn’t want to be identified told VANGUARD that,
“Although she was tested for the virus due to her serious contact with
the late doctor, the result came out negative. The media lied.”
Reacting to the controversy, the Minister of Health’s spokesman, Mr. Dan Nwomeh, said “I am not aware, please.”
The controversy came to the fore just as Federal Government clarified
that the official number of confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease,
EVD, including the index (first) case in the country is 13 and not 14 as
earlier announced, even as one more Ebola patient under treatment has
recovered and is almost ready for discharge.
So is she Ebola free or not?!
