Buhari gives CBN directive to backlist firms importing palm oil, 42 other items

President Buhari has issued a directive to the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to backlist firms who import palm oil and 42 other items.

This was disclosed by Godwin Emefiele, the CBN governor while speaking at a meeting he had in Abuja with producers of palm oil.

According to him, the directive gives CBN the authority to provide support to firms and individuals in Nigeria who are looking towards tmexpanding the production of ten different commodities which include are rice, maize, cassava , tomatoes, cotton, oil palm , poultry, fish , livestock dairy and cocoa.
