Bauchi govt to marry off 100 repentant sex workers to interested men for free

Bauchi State Government has expressed its readiness to marry off at least 100 repentant sex workers to interesting men for free.

The state government would carry out the gesture through the Hisbah Department of the state Shariah Commission.

According to Permanent Secretary in charge of the department, Alhaji Aminu Balarabe-Isah, the state government would sponsor the wedding for interested male applicants who wish to marry any of the repentant sex workers.

Balarabe-Isah stated who this on Tuesday at the formal inauguration of vocational training for 575 repentant sex workers in Bauchi, also said the state government would also provide such couple with dependable and reliable sources of livelihood.

“We would facilitate the entire process after obtaining their consent and that of their parents and guardians before the marriage takes place,” he added.
