A banditry group have kidnap six persons in an attack on Rigachikun community in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
It was gathered that one of the abductees was a bride-to-be.
The incident happened around 1am on Wednesday February 23, 2022.
The gunmen were said to had attacked three houses and picked their victims and whisked them away to an unknown location.
A woman whose grandchildren were among those abducted said the bride-to-be identified as Khadija was sleeping by her side when the bandits broke into their room.
“We were sleeping when they came into the room and asked Khadija and one Shabilu to come with them. They also took away a phone and a piece of bread from the table. We are confused,” Daily Trust quoted her as saying.
A community leader, Idris Abdulrasheed, who confirmed the incident said it was the first in the community, adding that the police have been informed.
He said the kidnappers were yet to contact the families of the victims.
Efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, as at the time of filing this report were not successful as he did not respond to calls put to his mobile phone.
