Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated the lionesses of Cameroon 4-2 via penalty shootout after the regulation time ended 0-0 to book a place in the final of the 2018 African Women Nations Cup in Ghana.

The Falcons have also qualified for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, they will slug it out with South Africa in the final on Saturday.

It will be recalled that South Africa defeated Nigeria in the first match of the competition, the Falcons will be aiming for revenge on Saturday to confirm their superiority on the continent having won eight of the last ten editions of the competition.

Meanwhile, Super Falcons Coach, Thomas Dennerby has expressed his satisfaction after his team booked a world cup place in France

“I said at the beginning that our target was to qualify to the World Cup, I am very happy we have achieved this goal. I feel very tired,” Dennerby said after the game.

“They (Cameroon) are a good team, but I wasn’t happy with how we started. We lost the ball too easily but we defended well and that’s probably why we won. But we need to improve our forward play in the future.”
