Argentinian policewoman promoted after breastfeeding abandoned child
A policewoman in Argentina who recently went viral after she breastfed an abandoned baby in a hospital while in her uniform has been rewarded by the police force in the country.
The policewoman, Celeste Ayala had requested to breastfeed a 7-month old baby she and her team took to the hospital with five others for living in unfavourable conditions.
Minister of security for the Province of Buenos Aires, Cristian Ritondo wrote on Twitter, “Today we received Celeste, the officer who nursed a baby at the children’s Hospital #LaPlata to notify her of her promotion. We wanted to thank you in person for that gesture of spontaneous love that managed to calm the baby’s cry. The police we’re proud of, the police we want.”
