The election for the Gamawa Federal Constituency in Bauchi State has been declared won by Mr. Adamu Gamawa of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
On Monday in Gamawa, the INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Idris Misau, announced the outcome.
He claimed that Gamawa received 14,713 votes to defeat Mr. Ahmed Gololo of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who received 52,314 votes, who was his closest rival.
The returning officer also declared that Garba Ibrahim of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) secured 2,320 votes.
“I hereby certify that I am the returning officer for the 2023 Gamawa Federal Constituency election held on the 25th day of February 2023.
“The election was contested and Adamu Gamawa of the APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected”.
Meahwhile, the electoral commission has declared Mr Mansur Manu-Soro of the PDP winner for the Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency seat.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Shuaibu Ade announced the result on Monday in Darazo.
He said that Manu-Soro polled 36,596 votes to floor Bashir Ibrahim Bello of the APC who scored 29,134 votes while Mohammed Mustapha of the NNPP polled 5,487 votes.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Manu-Soro was re-elected in into the lower chamber of the NASS to represent Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency. (NAN)
