The registration of Fulani herdsmen has been commenced by the Anambra State Government. This is aimed at checking farmer-herders conflict in the sate.
Chairman of Anambra State Cattle Menace Control Committee, Igwe Peter Eze-Amama told newsmen that the registration would be taking place at Amansea in Awka North council area.
According to him, the registration will help in easy identification whenever there is a crash.
He said, “The enumeration will assist the cattle menace control committee to fish out the bad eggs from the Fulani herdsmen in Anambra state.”
The move has been hailed by Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, the South-East chairman of Miyetti Allah. He also warned that erring herdsmen who failed to embrace the initiative will be punished severely.
