Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu-Uche has described the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, as a detribalised Nigerian who doesn’t practice religious fanaticism.
According to him, Akeredolu is a defender of his people, adding that Nigeria needs a courageous and sincere leadership as exemplified by him.
The Prelate said this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Governor in his office, Alagbaka, Akure, on Monday, during which he lauded Akeredolu for his efforts on Security while declaring the sunshine state as one of the most secured states in the country.
The Prelate said: ”You love Nigeria and your state with passion. The way you enthroned security, Ondo is one of the most secured states in Nigeria.
“I want to thank you for you are a detribalized Nigerian and you don’t practice religion fanaticism.
“We admire you. We love the way you speak about national issues. You are not buried in political affiliations. You are politician but a true Nigerian. You speak the truth at all times. You are a man of emotional intelligence and critical thinking.
“We will continue to pray for you to succeed. We want peace in Nigeria and we want One Nigeria.
“You are one of the Christian Governors we have. We need people like you in every state of our federation. That we bring maturity into governance.”
According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State, Richard Olatunde, the man of God also called for more programs targeted at empowering the youths in the country, adding that an enabling environment must be created to allow the youths flourish.
He hailed the Governor for the construction of the Ore flyover, stressing that the daily accident that used to occur at the cross junction of the road has now become a thing of the past.
Responding, Governor Akeredolu thanked the Prelate for his prayers and supports, describing him as one of the great leaders of the Christian faith in the country.
“I have no doubt about the efficacy of your prayers. That I am in office, I am a product of prayers,” he said.
