Former senate president of Nigeria, Bukola Saraki has celebrated ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo who is marking his 83rd birthday today.
In a series of tweets, Saraki described Obasanjo as “a father to the nation” who “has been committed to her unity, peace and development”.
He also appreciated Obasanjo for the opportunity he gave him at the beginning of his career as a public servant.
He wrote: “I felicitate with former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the occasion of his birthday. Baba has always been a father to the nation and has been committed to her unity, peace and development.
“I am forever grateful for the opportunity Baba gave me at the beginning of my career in public service and have long since imbibed that principle of giving opportunities to a new generation of leaders who show potential to contribute to the growth and development of our nation”.
