The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has said it had nothing to do with the group that purchased a presidential form for former president Goodluck Jonathan.
According to a statement by Abdulbasid Bonga, the Protem National Secretary of Concerned Registered Members of MACBAN, his association was not part of the charade that took place on Monday.
He said the leader of the group, Ibrahim Abdullahi, is a factional National Secretary of Gan Allah Fulani Development Association (GAFDAN) which is unrelated to MACBAN.
“We the entire registered members and officials of Fulani Association, including all the stakeholders dissociate ourselves from this move,” he added.
Meanwhile, Jonathan has dissociated himself from the group and also claims that he has joined the APC.
A statement by his media team read, “The Attention of the Office of former President Goodluck Jonathan, has been drawn to the purported purchase of the Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest form, of the All Progressives Congress APC, in his name, by a group named “FULANI GROUP “
“We wish to inform the General Public, particularly Nigerians, that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has no knowledge whatsoever of the personalities behind the purported purchase of the form, in his name, not have any relationship with the association.
“It should be noted, that as at the moment, Dr Goodluck Jonathan is not a member of the APC and therefore could not have accepted such gesture, from those behind the move.”
