Alhaji Lawal Abubakar has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police in Kebbi State for the upcoming gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections on Saturday.
On Thursday, the Police spokesperson, SP Nafiu Abubakar, issued a statement in Birnin Kebbi warning thugs and other criminals to avoid the state because it would not be business as usual.
“They should either leave the state or be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land,” the CP was quoted as saying.
He called on the people of the state to continue to support with the police and other security agencies in a bid to ensure peaceful and credible elections. (NAN)
