Three Nigerians are among the foreigners who suffered fresh xenophobic attacks which occurred in Witbank , Mpumanlaga Province, South Africa.
This was confirmed by the national spokesperson for the Nigeria Union, South Africa, Mr Odefa Ikele. According to him, the attacks started at the early hours of Tuesday.
“Groups made up of community members and taxi drivers went to different areas in Witbank attacking foreign – owned businesses and foreigners .
“ Three Nigerians are injured , but no death case for now. Some of our nationals are seeking refuge at Witbank Police Station , ’’ he said .
He added that the affected Nigerians are still taking refuge at the nearest police station.
This comes weeks after President Buhari traveled to South Africa where he met with President Ramaphosa to discuss ways to settle amicably over the last xenophobic attacks Nigerians suffered in his country.
