An overnight raid by Boko Haram saw the death of 23 Chadian soldiers in March, which is considered to be one of the deadliest of such attacks inside Chad by the insurgents.

The Chadian soldiers killed in the attack are said to be part of a U.S.-trained West African task force deployed to counter Boko Haram.
