Phrank Shaibu, an aide to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has said the Minister of State Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, spoke ignorantly about the former vice president.
Keyamo, while speaking on Channels TV on Friday, said Atiku has nothing to offer Nigeria, stating that the PDP candidate cannot rule Nigeria as a president.
According to the Minister, the former vice-president was neither tested nor trusted, saying that the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is ahead of Atiku in a decision-making capacity.
Responding to Keyamo‘s comment during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Shaibu said Keyamo’s remarks on Atiku is a sign of illiteracy and not befitting of a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
He said, “You know it’s a mark of wretched illiteracy when a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria speaks in this kind of language. Yes, how could you wake up and said that parents should beg ASUU to call off strike. He has forgotten that the educational system is in bad shape; our schools and universities are ill-funded and underfunded.
“In the first place if you know the role of Vice President, not forgetting too that His Excellency Atiku Abubakar was not just the regular vice president. He was the chairman of the economic team. He raised a strong team. Have you forgotten the revolution that telecommunication brought to our economy? He led that team.”
