Why we didn’t hold mega rally ahead of Ekiti guber poll – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has explained why its did not hold mega rally ahead of tomorrow’s Ekiti State governorship election.

The main opposition party said that it decided to postpone its mega rally to avoid clash with other political parties, adding that mega rally is a mere jamboree that never translates to votes.

Speaking with Daily Trust, Publicity Secretary of the Party, Mr. Raphael Adeyanju, said the postponement was because two political parties scheduled their mega rally for the same day.

Adeyanju explained that after PDP had notified its members of the mega rally, All Progressives Congress (APC) also decided to hold its rally which he said was against the guideline of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He disclosed further that PDP members had decided to do house-to-house campaign before the deadline for electioneering.
