The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it expects the Labour Party governorship candidate, Hon. Moshood Adegoke Salvador, back to the party after losing the 2023 election.
The APC said Salvador’s defection is not what to lose sleep over because even nomads envy his decamping adventures.
KEMI FILANI NEWS had reported that Salvador emerged as LP’s governorship candidate after formally dumping the APC on Wednesday.
Salvador accused the APC of failing on its promises to give Commissioner and Special Adviser positions to his group, the Conscience Forum.
According to Daily Trust, spokesman of Lagos APC, Hon. Seye Oladejo said the party provided Salvador “shelter” when he lost out in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Oladejo also dismissed the allegations that his group was denied juicy appointments.
He said, “The party cannot lose sleep over the defection of someone we provided shelter when he lost out in a party where he was the state chairman.
“His claim to have large followership is laughable because that never translated to votes in his former party.
“From the Alliance for Democracy (AD) to PDP to APC and now to Labour party. Even nomads will envy these adventures.
“His allegation of denied juicy promises is another wild imagination of someone who crossed to the winning party that had been the nemesis of his former party since the advent of this dispensation. What will be the basis?
“Perhaps a case of having an exaggerated opinion of his relevance, influence and clout. We expect him back after losing the governorship election next year.”
