Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi has clinched the All Progressive Congress(APC) Ebonyi South Senatorial district ticket.
Umahi polled 250 votes to emerge winner after defeating his younger brother, Austin, who polled ten votes to place a distant second and three other challengers.
Mrs Ann Agom Eze, challenging the election in court, scored zero votes, Mrs Chukwu Elizabeth Nwakaego scored three, while Mrs Ibam Margaret scored five.
The Chairman of the committee, Professor Emmanuel Kehinde, declared the election result on Sunday at the Afikpo North local government headquarters.
The primary election is the third of its kind in the constituency after an order of the Federal High Court, which voided the second election and ordered fresh elections.
