Tinubu made you call Lagos home instead of Awka, Shettima takes swipe at Peter Obi

Shettima Peter Obi

The vice presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Kasim Shettima, has apparently taken a swipe at the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

This was during the annual conference of the Nigerian Bar Association which was held on Monday in Lagos.

Addressing the audience, Shettima said his principal, the APC presidential candidate and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, made Lagos home for all.

He said Tinubu’s strides n Lagos made Obi see the place as home instead of Awka in Anambra State which he governed for eight years.

“My brother sitted here call Lagos his home and not Awka, it is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that made Lagos a home for all,” he said.

He continued, “Nigerians have the capability to see through the worn-out rhetoric and sophistry of pretentious politicians.”

“Nigerians should follow the man who knows the road. From day one, we will hit the ground running. We’ll promptly address the issue of the economy, ecology, and security.

“And we have the antecedents. I built some of the best schools in Nigeria. Go to Borno and see wonders; you will never believe that it is a state in a state of war.

“So, we are going to replicate our achievements in Lagos, in Borno and some of the frontline states so that our nation will be a better place.

“The fundamental issue is pure leadership,” he said.

Tasteless & illogical. Same old wives’ fables. Unable to address the burning issues of the moment because they are products of their clueless administration. Tinubu was just one of the persons that had the opportunity to govern Lagos. What about the maverick Jakande who was a replica of Sam Mbakwe in Imo state?Abeg park well for the more visionary leader that will urgently rescue Buhari/APC sinking ship.

To me jakande is the one that build Lagos he opened all the rural areas in Lagos most of the road he constructed are still in use today just for how many years of his reign compares to 23years one man with out development in the rural areas I think they should go back to the drawing board and learn how to tackle the national issue instead of talking about the past when Nigeria is living at peace with one another and with good economy

So what do we say of Buba Marwa who added his value, even as a military administrator and left the arena?
What do we say of the late Alhaji Jakande, whose impact is still being felt till date?
What do we say of true Lagosians who welcome all and sundry to the great state, without let?

Are you saying sir, that Tinubu is the new owner of Lagos?

Opportunity enables the wise contribute their quota to state and national development and which becomes legacy. Somebody built on Jakandes foundation. Thank God he didn’t bastardise it, he improved on it, raised IGR, raised leaders, created 37 LCDA, survived 18 months of non payment of monthly revenue from federal government and did not owe workers, hence, he is standing since 2007 he left office. Tell Nigerians your own. Not mere rhetorics.

I don’t know what this people take Nigerians for. If care is not taken, they will appropriate all the good works done by the sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Lagos has always been the capital of Nigeria until the early 90s when IBB moved the capital to Abuja. Before Tinubu there was Jakande who performed wonderfully well in Lagos. There were also some military administrators who equally did well like Buba Marwa and Ndubusi Kanu, so appropriating all their good works to Tinubu is very unfair.

Very terrible. APC should have told the gathering why there principal was not at the meeting and represented by running late.
Secondly, Shetimma should be reminded thatagos was the former capital of Nigeria and was made before BAT became governor.
Talking about building the best schools in Nigeria, it’s buth ridiculous. All the mega schools were sponsored under foreign aids partinaring with Borno State. Good building with NO teachers!. I challenge him to produce the education index or performance of Public schools within the States and rate it.
You can’t build a government bases on lies.
