Simon Ekpa, a disciple of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has threatened to stop the coming general elections in the South-East.
According to him, many will not know what is going on until the announcement of Biafra Republic is made.
In a tweet on Monday, he wrote, “They will continue to call me Ekperima Ekperima until we announce Biafra Republic. I am just wondering what will happen to them when we stop the election, when we refuse to renew the slave trade agreement in the name of keeping one Nigeria. When liberate & breakaway by 2023.”
Meanwhile, IPOB has announced Mazi Chika Edoziem as replacement for Nnamdi Kanu who is currently in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.
Edoziem is expected to pilot the secessionist group until Kanu is released, after which he will relinquish the role.
This was disclosed in a statement by the group’s spokesman, Emma Powerful.
The statement reads partly: “For the avoidance of doubt, the Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (DOS), headed by Mazi Chika Edoziem, is at the helm of affairs of the Biafra movement; whenever our leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU comes out, he hands over IPOB structure back to him.”
Before now, Edoziem is believed to be the IPOB deputy leader.
His principal, Kanu, is facing charges bordering on terrorism and treasonable felony.
