President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja from Liberia, where he was a Special Guest at the country’s 175th independence anniversary.
The President arrived at his official residence at the State House, Abuja, on Tuesday at 09:00 pm.
During his speech in Liberia, Buhari stressed that the deepening of democracy and good governance are essential antidotes to unconstitutional changes of African governments.
Also, in his goodwill message, he called on West African leaders to do their best to conduct elections in an atmosphere of trust, freedom and transparency.
Buhari argued that it’s the only way the sub-region can be insulated from the scourge of unconstitutional takeovers recorded in Mali (2021), Guinea (2021) and Burkina Faso (2022).
