Peter Obi meets Gov Wike in Rivers

Wike and Obi

Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi visited Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike at his private residence in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

Obi had a behind-closed-door meeting with the governor immediately after his arrival. However, both men did not speak about the purpose of the meeting.

The visit is coming four days after the Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, also met with Governor Wike at about 9:00 pm behind closed doors.

KEMI FILANI NEWS recalls that Wike lost the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

He was afterwards considered as Atiku’s running mate alongside two others but lost the slot to Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

There have been reports that Atiku had set up a reconciliation committee to reach out to Wike to appease him and to solicit his support to clinch power from the All Progressives Congress at the centre.
