Osun Guber Election: It’ll take you 30 years to recover from defeat – Oyetola tells PDP

Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetol, has told the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that after its defeat in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, it would take the party 30 years before it would recover and contest again in the state.
Oyetola stated this on Friday while addressing a reelection campaign held in Ila-Orangun, the headquarters of Ila Local Government Area.
The governor, who listed series of achievements recorded by his administration, charged the electorate in the community to get their Permanent Voter’s Card and support the APC at the poll.
Speaking in the Yoruba language, Oyetola said, “This authority is in my hand; I won’t relinquish it because your votes will assist me to retain it. My eight years in power as governor is sure by the grace of God.
“It will take the PDP 30 years for them to contest again in Osun because of the defeat they will suffer on July 16.”
Reacting to Oyetola’s comment, the Director of Media and Strategy, Osun PDP, Oladele Oluwabamiji, said the statement credited to the governor was capable of causing chaos.
Oluwabamiji also said Oyetola, with his utterances, had given a marching order to his followers to engage in brigandage for the APC to emerge victorious, adding that the Osun people, with their voting power, would decide the fate of the APC on July 16.
“The statement was capable of causing chaos, and it is reckless, to say the least. Osun people will decide his fate on July 16,” he said.
