A chieftain of the Labour Party, Prof. Patrick Okedinachi Utomi, has said vice president Yemi Osinbajo should have been the best presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress, APC, instead of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Utomi said the ruling APC made a mistake fielding an ailing Tinubu as its flag bearer in the 2023 presidential election.
The founder of the Centre for Value in Leadership stated this while speaking on Channels Television Programme, The Politics Today.
The economic expert said that Osinbajo would have been the best candidate for APC than Tinubu, who is physically ailing.
Utomi further explained that Osinbajo is young, healthier, intelligent and vibrant, unlike the former Lagos State governor.
Speaking on Afenifere’s support for the Obi/Datti Movement, Utomi said he wasn’t surprised because Afenifere was built on moral principles, equity, fairness and inclusiveness.
According to Utomi, Afenifere has moral authority and has an alliance with PADEF, Middle Belt groups, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo and has all it takes to make Obi/Datti win the forthcoming election.
