Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Olakunle Oluomo,. Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, at the Muritala Muhammad Airport, Lagos State.
Oluomo was reportedly arrested on Thursday morning over allegations bordering on financial crimes.
According to PUNCH, a staff member at the assembly who pleaded anonymity said EFCC operatives arrested Oluomo following a tip-off.
The source further disclosed that the Speaker was undergoing further grilling in the custody of the agency.
It was gathered that Oluomo has been on the EFCC wanted list following his failure to honour the anti-graft agency invitation several times.
The Speaker and some others were accused of forging signatures and financial documents of the Ogun State Assembly.
The EFCC spokesperson for Lagos zonal office, Ayo Oyewole, could not be reached for confirmation as he refused to answer the calls.
