The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and the governorship candidate of the party in Osun State, Lasun Yusuff, have reacted to you’ll remain ‘labourers till death’ comment made by All Progressives Congress, presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
KEMI FILANI NEWS had reported that Tinubu made the comment on Tuesday at the APC grand rally for the reelection of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola
The former Lagos State governor said, “they said some are in Labour, they will remain labourers till death”.
Reacting to Tinubu’s comment, which the party considered derogatory while addressing LP members at the party’s Osun governorship rally, Obi advised them to return such comment with love.
He said, “I listened to our chairman when he said that somebody said that ‘they can labour till death.’ When they show you hatred, Labour Party will show them, love. There is dignity in labour.”
The former Anambra State governor urged Osun residents to support the party’s candidate in the governorship poll for better leadership.
Addressing the rally, Yusuff said the comment by Tinubu was inconsistent with the attributes of a virtuous Yoruba man.
Yusuff promised to surprise those saying he would not get votes in Saturday’s election.
“He came back yesterday and said we should go and labour till death. That is not an attribute of a virtuous Yoruba person. I described them as people with anonymous background; we don’t know them, their life is anonymous,” he stated.
