Gov. Abubakar Sani-Bello of Niger has expressed sympathy to the state’s citizens regarding the ongoing difficulty obtaining the newly designed naira notes.
Alhaji Ahmed Matane, Secretary to the State Government, made a statement to this effect on Thursday in Minna.
The governor expressed his profound sadness over the policy’s side effects, which included the closure of several stores in urban areas and markets in rural areas.
He said the government was aware of the difficult situation the people found themselves in the last few days and urged them to remain calm.
Sani-Bello assured that the state government was working to mitigate the hardship caused by the shortage of cash in circulation, including the new notes. (NAN)
