A rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, has said the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, diverted attention with fake bishops attending the unveiling of Senator Kashim Shettima as his vice presidential candidate for the 2023 election.

KEMI FILANI NEWS had reported that Pastors and Bishops from different Christian denominations stirred confusion among onlookers during the unveiling of Shettima as the running mate of Tinubu.

Yesufu alleged that Tinubu’s campaign team used the fake Bishops to divert discussions from the Muslim-Muslim ticket.

In a tweet, Yesufu wrote: “Dear Nigerians on social media So Tinubu campaign team gave you all an assignment yesterday by bringing “fake” bishops and directing your conversation away from the religious exclusion the Muslim-Muslim ticket is. What are you going to give them to talk about today?”

This publication has also reported that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), said it was not part of the unveiling of Shettima’s unveiling, challenging the APC to mention CAN officials who attended the event.

Adebayo Oladeji, Special Assistant on Media and Communication to the President of CAN, Samson Ayokunle, stated this while reacting to the presence of some bishops at Shettima’s unveiling ceremony at the Shehu Yar’adua Center in Abuja.
