The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has apologised to the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for his absence at their annual general conference, held in Lagos.
Recall that the NBA Conference, held in Lagos on Monday, was attended by other presidential flag bearers; Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
Kwankwaso and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, failed to show up at the Eko Atlantic City venue of the NBA conference.
Tinubu sent his running mate, Kashim Shettima, to represent him at the conference.
The former Kano State Governor tied his inability to attend the event to a result of other pressing national commitments.
“Under the circumstance, I would have sent my running mate, Bishop Isaac Idahosa, to represent me and share our perspectives for a new and prosperous Nigeria. But unfortunately, he is outside the country at the moment.
“I therefore wish to extend my sincere apology for my inability to attend and assure you that the New Nigeria People’s Party share a common vision with the NBA towards a common vision of peace, unity and prosperity of our beloved country,” Mr Kwakwanso said in a letter.
